Among The Multihulls: Volume One Review

This a gem of a book: partly memoir, partly adventure story, partly travelogue; totally compelling. Jim Brown's narrative is clear, clean and lyrical. The reader is driven to the next page, the next chapter. The book gives the reader boats, the sea, the land, the through the eyes of a sensitive and discerning observer accompanied by an endearing set of characters.
The reader wishes that he or she had been along for the voyage. No need to wish, read the book.
Volume II promises to be an equal or better pleasure. Perhaps Jim Brown will reveal more about Jo Anna, who, like Shakespeare's Dark Lady, remains too much of mystery. More about this remarkable woman who can bake bread on a boat at sea; stand a watch; fix their location on a stormy coast by a glimpse of Venus; and nurture, tame, and educate two proto-adolescents boys, not to mention her Peter Pan of a husband.
This book is a joy from start to finish.
