I drilled through my boat's transom and installed the outboard lock. It is about as good of a security measure you can install for an outboard. Good quality and it has held up well in a salt water environment.

$800 dollar propellers and public parking lots at marinas make tempting targets. This device will make it tough - you cant get a wrench of any kind to grip., hence you cant get the castle lock nut off. That said, the locking nut mechanism is easily stripped, so due caution in tightening it. Do NOT overtighten, you will strip the internal teeth and will never use it again. You will be able to remove it, but not reinstall it. It should be made sturdier
