Masterlock OML0127 Lock Outboard Motor Review
Installed for one season on the motor for my dinghy. Only used sparingly on weekends and kept covered when not in use.I went to remove my dinghy for winter storage and the darn lock would not open. Tried WD40 still no go.
Had to resort to a hacksaw and fortunately after about 10 mins of sawing the whole darn thing just fell apart. Amoung the pieces was a small spring and parts to the locking mechanism.
The lock could not even hold up to one season of use!
Emailed the mfg/distributor ... no reply after 3 days. Looks like they don't care.
UPDATE -- They Called (took about a week)! Said there was a design change on the lock mechanism and that they would send me a replacement free of charge.
If that fixes things, then this is a pretty nice lock from a functionality standpoint.
