the description does not say that it is incomplete and that you need to purchase the cross bar separately. In fact, the description says it is ready to go. But when you get it, there is no cross bar and the picture on the box does not have the cross bar. would have been nice to know at time of purchase. Other than that, it works as advertised.

Want to carry your canoe or kayak on your truck without resting it unsteadily in the pickup bed? Turn to the Yakima DryDock hitch-mount truck adapter, which creates a top-of-the-truck system capable of carrying kayaks, canoes, and other long loads. The Y-frame DryDock fits onto any 2-inch receiver hitch with an anti-wobble threaded hitch pin, creating a solid foundation for the load. Once installed, simply match the height of the DryDock with your rooftop rack and you're set. The unit comes with stabilizing straps that attach underneath your rear bumper, although you'll need to purchase bow/stern tie-down straps (sold separately) to keep the boats secure. As with all Yakima racks, the DryDock carries a lifetime warranty.
