Trading Ordinary...For Extraordinary: Cruising Stories and Advice From A Mexico Sailing Adventure Review
I've read a lot of books by people chronicling their sailing adventures and this one rates about average compared to most. It's a really short book, only about 120 pages of actual writing and a few recipes and misc. are thrown in at the end to fatten the book I would guess.You'll find a few personal insights thrown in but after reading this book, it added little to my knowledge of what it is like to sail compared to most other books written on the subject. I think after a lot of pages of "at this anchorage we walked the beach and did these activities with these same people..." the book gets a bit boring as a read, though for someone sailing to Mexico trying to find more info on the obscure anchorages, this could be helpful. But IMHO there are lots of better free sources of sailing around Mexico including the sailing Guide to Mexico online at the Latitude38 sailing magazine website.
The couple sound like two really nice people but the book feels sometimes like a slightly amatuerish self-published endeavor and it would have been great to have photos. Finally, the author's website that they mention is really amatuerish and seems incomplete.
