the book is great in itself as an all-purpose, general public reference for parents who want to inter-act with their babies.
what is truly unique, is the author's complete understanding of WHAT it takes to communicate. many children with autism are diagnosed too late, because they "roll over/ smile/ sit up/ babble etc" and they do not get Early Intervention because the tests are geared towards "delay", whereas in fact, what is observable are subtle differences, but VERY CLEAR once you know what to look for.
