"I CAN'T HEAR YOU ": A Marines Journey Through Parris Island And The Korean War Review

A much needed read about the Fleet Marine Force during the Korean War years...just the easy flow of leatherneck jargon and how Marines love-fight the good fight-die for a worthy cause and as a rite of passage...I have never met a Marine who wasn't profane...Marine author Jack Orth's 'twist of words' is sintilating reading....this author brings you in as a recent replacement to the bestiality, carnage of close combat in the 'forgotten victory' that was Korea in the early 1950s...these Marines are not the parade/demonstration types; conversely, the dirty, grubby, cruddy, mud-Marine types that win America's wars to insure all the sleeping Americans who care naught beyond the waters...much is written here about the needs of the Corps away from the Korean maelstrom; yet, Marine Jack Harrington volunteers for a combat tour against the godless Communist hordes and really feels how the crap hits the fan in fast company in Goonyland and that blood/soaked..."No Man's Land"...in front of the MLR [ main line of resistance] to you civilian types...this is a very good and interesting story line, fast paced and in reality...true...I know, as I was at various sectors in Korea just like this courageous Marine author of this military historical tome...Americans who give a good damn should add this Korean War book/novel to their libraries...it's that factual about how one feels so small/vunerable under tons of enemy incoming-artillery barrages [24/7] from 'Luke the Gook' gunners of yesteryear...and beyond that...to come home as a survivor from a war-ravaged Korea is like you have been granted a second life, indeed..."Well Done" and kudos to this Marine author: Jack Orth-USMC.......SSGT CHRIS SARNO-USMC FMF
